Michael Mathiesen, Managing Director

Michael Mathiesen is the Founder and President of
2M Invest A/S and member of the Board of Directors. Mr Mathiesen
is Chairman of the Danish IT Trade Association and a member of the
Board of Directors of a number of Danish and International private
and public companies, mainly within the IT Industry and is also
the.
Mr. Mathiesen has specialized in building up fast-growing
companies with international subsidiaries and distributors. He has
helped many IT companies successfully rework their business strategies
and turning them towards the new market conditions of IT.
His business acumen is widely acknowledged and he
has received a number of awards for outstanding performance within
the IT industry.
Mr. Mathiesen is a member of the Danish Governments
IT advisory board and has assisted the Danish ministers of commerce,

Kaj-Erik Relander joined Accel in June 2001. Before
joining Accel, Kaj-Erik was President and CEO of Sonera Corporation,
the progressive Finnish telecommunications company. Prior to this
assignment, Kaj-Erik held a number of other senior management positions
during his seven-year tenure with Sonera. Prior to joining Sonera
in 1994, Kaj-Erik served as Director of Business Development at
SITRA, a Finnish Technology investment company. At SITRA, Kaj-Erik
was responsible for structuring venture capital investments in technology
growth companies and for managing the endowment investments portfolio.
Kaj-Erik has served on the Board of Directors at
a variety of international companies including TietoEnator, Ledstiernan,
F-Secure, Kreatel and Axiomlab as well as Sonera holdings such as
Turkcell and VoiceStream Wireless.
Kaj-Erik earned his masters degree in Economics
from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration
with majors in Economics. He later received an M.B.A. from the Helsinki
School of Economics and the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania.

Currently he is also a senior scientist at IMEC

where he continues to pursue research in various areas of networking
components and systems.
In his past he has served in both research and strategic
management roles at AT&T and Bellcore in the United States.
He has also been a successful mentor and entrepreneur in various
start-ups in the telecommunications and networking space.

Dr. Christian Reitberger, Assistant Director,

Dr. Christian Reitberger holds a PhD in Physics
obtained sub auspiciis prasidentis from the University of Vienna.
After having worked in various research functions he joined McKinsey
& Company where he specialized in serving fast growing high
technology clients in the fields of telecommunications and digital
media in their start-up phases. Christian was instrumental in building
McKinsey New Venture, the consulting offering targeted towards high
growth companies and their investors. He left as a Senior Engagement
Manager after four and a half years to join Apax Partners in October
1999 in our Munich office. Christian is responsible for telecoms,
IT and internet infrastructure investments with a focus on semiconductor
and photonics investments; he serves on the boards of 12snap, Ciao.com
,Healy Hudson, Systemonic and Webraska and was involved in the Centerbeam
and IPG Photonics transactions.

Werner Dreesbach (Senior Principal) joined Atlas
Venture in 1998. Previously he was VP of Corporate Strategies at
Viasoft, a position he assumed following Viasoft's 1996 acquisition

the company up over a period of eleven years into a leading international
provider of enterprise repository solutions. After graduating with
a degree in computer science from the University of Bonn, he spent
his early career in IT consulting working for clients in the banking,
insurance, pharmaceutical and transportation sectors. Werner represents
Atlas Venture among others on the Boards of Datango, GoIndustry,
and Hyperwave.

Hans Spitzner, Vice Minister and State Secretary
Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs,
Transport and Technology
Hans Spitzner was born on November 26, 1943 in Berchtesgaden. He
grew up in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria/Germany. Mr. Spitzner
received a degree in economics and political science from the University
of Munich and began his career at headquarters of a major Munich
bank. Subsequently he was active for a number of years as an independent
business consultant.
Mr. Spitzner entered public service as a member
of the Bavarian Parliament in 1974. From 1987 to 1988 and from October
1990 to June 1993 he was deputy chairman of the CSU faction in parliament.
Since July 1, 1995 he has been Regional Chairman of the CSU in Upper
Palatinate and a member of the CSU Executive Council.
From 1988 to 1990 Mr. Spitzner was State Secretary
of the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Development and Environment.
In June 1993 he joined the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs,
Transport and Technology as State Secretary.
He serves as a member of the Supervisory Boards of the Munich as
well as the Nuremberg airports, the Nuremberg Trade Fair organisation
and as a member of the administrative council of the Bavarian state
bank (Bayerische Landesbank) in Munich.

Originally qualified as a pharmacist, Franc has
studied in both the UK and the US, obtaining an MBA and Diploma
in Marketing. He worked in the drug industry, with Boots in the

launches. Franc moved into Investment Banking in 1989 working for
Robert Fleming, Paribas and then BZW. He returned to BNP Paribas
in 1998. Franc has been involved in a number of placements, both
primary and secondary, ranging from the Wellcome flotation to a
number of Biotech deals. He is currently responsible for Pharmaceutical,
MedTech and BioTech research within the enlarged BNP Paribas organisation.

by the 2001 Reuters Survey (European Larger Companies) in the new

He was regarded as the lead analyst for most of the companies he

in 2000 to 3i.
Earlier, in 1971, he launched Laser-Optronic in

European producer of laser systems, with branches in Brussels, Milan
and Paris. In 1981, Falk Strascheg sold his enterprise to Coherent
Inc. of Palo Alto, California, the world leader in lasers manufacturing.
Falk Strascheg was elected president of the European
Venture Capital Association (EVCA) for the fiscal year 1997/98.
He is also currently on supervisory, advisory and governing boards
at various German and foreign high-tech enterprises.

Financial Times
Paul Abrahams, 39, is bureau chief for the Financial
Times in San Francisco. He directs the west coast technology coverage
and also writes about some of the areas leading companies,
as well as investment banking, venture capital and the regional
economy. He has worked at the Financial Times since 1988, covering
technology, defence (including the Gulf war in London and the Middle
East), aerospace, paper and pulp, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and
biotechnology. He has worked on the Lex column and was head of international
companies, capital markets and commodities and agriculture. His
last posting was in Tokyo where he was bureau chief from 1997 to
2000.
He was presented the Institute for the Study of
Drug Dependency national newspaper award by HRH Princess Diana in
1994 and was nominated by the Financial Times for a Pulitzer Prize
in 2000.
Paul has an undergraduate degree in history from
the University of Cambridge. He also has a doctorate from the same
university. His thesis was titled: Revolution, reaction and
resistance in Vichy France: Haute-Savoie 1939-1945. He was
obliged to spend a considerable amount of time in French ski stations
interviewing former members of the resistance. Paul is a former
ski guide and raced at university level. He has appeared often on
television and radio, including the BBC, CNBC and CNN, and also
wrote and presented a BBC Timewatch documentary titled Myths
and Memories of World War Two. He currently lives in San Francisco
with his wife Abby and two children, Sophie and Matthew.

Ulrich Geilinger has been in the venture capital business since

capital firms. He subsequently was a Partner in Apaxs Zurich
office. In 1997, he became an advisor to Vontobel and Private Equity
Holding AG which developed into one of the largest investors in
European venture funds. He served as Deputy CEO of Private Equity

HBM BioVentures AG. Ulrich Geilinger is on the Board of Directors

David McKenzie, Business Development Executive

David McKenzie has been with IBM for more than 30
years. He joined the company at the Manufacturing facility in Greenock, Scotland in 1964,
and pursued a career in software development and international marketing,
including management assignments in IBM's software development
laboratory in Raleigh, North Carolina, the International Marketing
centre in Munich, and with European HQ Operations in both Paris
and New York.
Starting in 1975, Davids career has been focused
on leading IBM into new business opportunities based on the emergence
of new technologies. From 1976 - 1983, he was leading the European
work on launching IBM into the Engineering Graphics business, followed
by 2 years launching IBM into the PC based engineering workstation
business. In 1985, David effectively became IBMs first full-time
person in Europe on UNIX, when he became the EMEA Product Manager
for IBM's UNIX products. As IBMs UNIX / RS/6000 business grew,
David held a series of UK and European management positions, eventually
being appointed in 1992 as Product Management Director for the RS/6000
Division in EMEA.
In March, 1997, David was invited to join another
start-up business, IBMs Network Computer Division, as Product
Management Director for EMEA. David was then selected to lead the
new Pervasive Computing Division in EMEA, taking up that position
in January, 1998. David was appointed Director of Mobile e-Business
for IBM EMEA in October, 2000 and Director of Emerging Business,
with a global mission, in July, 2001.

Tim Keating, Director - Intel Capital, heads the

in Europe. Normally working with Venture Capitalists, Intel Capital

wireless and broadband communications sectors. Tim joined Intel
in 1981 and has held a number of positions in engineering and marketing
at Intel, his most recent as Director and General Manager of the
Content Group for Intel Europe. Prior to this he was General Manager
of the EMEA Intel Architecture Business Group and the Worldwide
Marketing Director of the Pentium (tm) Processor Division through

Christian Zschocke is the Managing Partner of the
Morgan Lewis Frankfurt office. His practice concentrates on
mergers and acquisitions, in particular takeover law, as well as
on EU and German antitrust law. He has been the external advisor
to the German Takeover Commission for several years. Dr. Zschocke
is a regular speaker at seminars, and an author of numerous publications
on corporate and antitrust law, including a bilingual commentary
on the German Takeover Code, a bilingual commentary on the German
Stock Corporation Act, as well as monthly reports on current takeover
offers and the development of European and German takeover law in
the magazine FINANCE. Dr. Zschocke, a German national,
has been a member of the Cologne Bar since 1990. In addition to
earning a doctorate in law from Hamburg University, he is qualified
as a Licenciado en derecho under Spanish law.

Romeo Paioni was appointed Head of Scientific and
External Affairs of Novartis Pharma Development in January 1999.
Prior to that, he was Head of Novartis Preclinical Development,
Basel Operations. Before assuming this responsibility in Novartis
in 1997, R. Paioni filled various positions within the Pharmaceutical
Division of Ciba. From 1990 to 1997 he was Head of Cibas Pharma
Research at Headquarters in Basel. In 1998 he was a founder-member
of the BioValley Platform Basel.
Romeo Paioni studied chemistry at the University
of Basel (Diploma) and of Bern (PhD) and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow

Chemi Peres is a true pioneer of the venture capital
industry in Israel. In 1992, he founded and managed Mofet Israel
Technology Fund, a leading venture capital fund in Israel, traded
on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). Prior to Mofet, Chemi Peres
was Director of Business Development and Marketing at Decision Systems
Israel (DSI) a leading real-time software company traded in TASE
and NASDAQ, and a Senior Consultant to Israel Aircraft Industries
(IAI). In 1996, he co-founded the largest venture capital management
team in Israel - Pitango Venture Capital Group. Chemi holds a BS.c
degree in Industrial Engineering & Management, and an MBA from
the Tel Aviv University. He served as a pilot in the IAF for over
10 years. Chemi Peres is on the board of publicly traded companies
such as Aladdin, AudioCodes and Koor, and serve on the board of
several private companies such as Mercado, Mysticom and others.
Mr. Peres is one of the founders of the Israel Venture Association
(IVA).

Mr Eric Achtmann, Partner

Eric Achtmann joined PolyTechnos from McKinsey &
Company, where he consulted largely in the product development and
finance practices. In addition, he has served as product development
and defence/aerospace industry expert since 1995. From 1991 to 1994,
he was involved in the founding of Petrotech Industries, a high-technology
start-up, developing advanced agents for the clean-up and extinguishing
of large petroleum-based spills and fires. He subsequently founded
Petrotech International to develop and market these products and
services throughout the Middle East. Prior to Petrotech, Eric worked
with a number of engineering-related companies, including BMW, Daimler-Benz
Aerospace and McDonnell-Douglas (Boeing).
An Eisenhower Fellow, Eric holds a B.S. in mechanical
engineering from the University of New Hampshire, an M.S. in Aeronautics
& Astronautics from MIT, a post-graduate degree from the Von
Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan
School of Management. He also completed graduate aerospace studies
at the Technical University of Munich.
Eric is a member of the MIT Sloan School of Management´s
NPVD Advisory Board, a founding member of the MIT Entrepreneurship
Society and European Representative of the MIT Entrepreneurship
Center. .

Tim Minshall, PhD, BEng, is a part of the management
team and a member of the board of St. John's Innovation Centre Ltd.
(www.stjohns.co.uk) - one of the UK's most successful incubators
of new technology ventures. He was part of the team that successfully
raised substantial funds for entrepreneurship-related activities
at the University of Cambridge. These funds are now being used to
deliver a wide range of teaching, support and research activities
focused on new venture creation.
Tim was part of the start-up management team of

Stephen Murphy is a Managing Director in the Financial

Finance activities. His remit at E*TRADE included managing E*TRADEs
Internet related Private Placement activities, global retail eDistribution
and the strategic realignment of E*TRADE's European businesses.
He left Salomon Brothers International Limited to become a Partner
at TIR Securities (bought by E*TRADE) in 1998. He originally joined

Mobile Acceleration GmbH, comes with many years' management experience

Strategy' he was chief strategist at VIAG Interkom, Munich. Alongside

project responsibility for acquiring the UMTS license at auction,
heading the bidder team in Mainz. From 1996 to 1997 he headed the

From 1985 to 1996 he worked for Mercedes Benz AG in Berlin and Stuttgart.

his doctorate in economics at Konstanz University. He has degrees

Jean Schmitt joined the Sofinnova Partners

Jean Schmitt is the founder of SLP InfoWare, a world

between 1996 and 2000, and generated 90% of turnover abroad, in
Europe, Asia and the US. SLP was acquired by Gemplus in 2000. Since
then, Jean Schmitt was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SLP
InfoWare and Vice President, Telecom Solutions and Applications
at Gemplus. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure
des Télécommunications (ENST) and has a post-graduate
degree in Artificial Intelligence.
