| BioValley
Situated in the geographic heart of Europe, BioValley
implements the prospect of a trinational region in the Valley of
the Upper Rhine and which extends over North-West Switzerland, German
South Baden and French Alsace.
The principle goal of BioValley is the promotion of greater cooperation
between companies involved in the biotechnological and biomedical
sectors and the internationally respected scientific institutions
associated with universities in the BioValley area. The intention
is to address not only the many pharmaceutical global players already
present in the BioValley area, but also to involve the region’s
numerous smaller enterprises and suppliers.
The BioValley initiative seeks to trigger systematic
collaboration between all those involved in the process of innovation.
This calls for the creation of a network strongly committed to technology
transfer.
This should on the one hand equip existing companies for global
competition and on the other hand by stimulating the establishment
of new businesses, especially in association with the universities,
create employment in new fields.
