Dr. Kai-Uwe Bindseil studied chemistry at Georg August University in Göttingen. In 1993, he wrote his doctoral thesis in bioorganic chemistry under the guidance of Prof. A. Zeeck. After a post-doctoral fellowship at Ciba-Geigy AG in Basle, he moved to AnalytiCon in 1994, where he is currently responsible for drug discovery, marketing and business development. As of mid-August he has become CEO of BioTOP.

Professor Graham John Boulnois joined Schroder Ventures in August 2001.

Before joining Schroder Venture, Professor Boulnois was senior vice president of Drug Innovation and Approval at Aventis Pharma AG. Here he had global responsibility for lead generation in biotechnology, screening, medical and synthetic chemistry, chemical development and informatics, in addition to R&D portfolio management as part of the senior R&D team. Prior to joining Aventis, Graham spent a number of years at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, latterly as global vice president and head of enabling science and technology.

Graham has a BSc in biological science and a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Leicester.

Dr Buch has senior management experience from pharmaceutical companies Pharmacia-Upjohn as Head of Clinical Research and Biostatistics in urology, gynecology and autoimmune diseases and as Medical Director at Svenska Hoechst AB and Squibb Scandinavia. Dr Buch received his medical training at the University of Gothenburg, where he also served as Lecturer at the Institute of Anatomy. He is the author of more than 25 scientific papers in the area of bone biology and has trained as specialist in orthopedic surgery. In 1981 he became a licensed doctor and in 1985 he published his thesis rendering him a Ph.D. degree.

He has concluded a wide range of compound in-licensing, out-licensing and research collaboration transactions with established and emerging pharmaceutical corporations in Europe and the USA.

Prior to this he was responsible for developing the global commercial strategy for RelenzaTM, GSK's treatment for influenza, and for the antibiotics ZinnatTM and FortumTM.

Before joining Glaxo, Kerry was in Business Planning for Kodak's diagnostic systems healthcare group and a Product Manager for antibiotics, in the Middle East Region, with Eli Lilly.

Kerry has a BSc in Mathematics and Biology and an MBA.

Deusch started studying Biology and Medicine at the University of Minnesota, Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and the University of London in 1987. He received a PhD in Immunology from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. After his residency in Internal Medicine at the Dept. of Medicine of Johannes Gutenberg University he conducted post-doctoral studies in molecular T cell immunology at Harvard University, Boston and earned the Professor`s Degree in Internal Medicine from the Technical University in Munich. Deusch joined McKinsey and Company in 1996 as a member of European Leadership Group in pharmaceuticals and healthcare. While at McKinsey he also co-founded its New Venture Practise, advising young companies in diverse life science and healthcare businesses. In Spring 1999 he founded Medicis, a life science focussed venture capital company investing in early stage companies. Kai Deusch joined the healthcare team of Apax Partners in June 2001.

Dalia's work has garnered both national and international recognition, including the Annual Award of the Israel Gerontology Society for her publication of "Domestic Care Dependency in the Aged" in 1985; a Merit of Excellence Award in the annual Israel Prime Minister's Software Competition in 1997; and the US Apple Gold Award for Education Media in 1998.

Professor Smith is a leading expert on the subject of angiogenesis in the female reproductive tract and is currently studying the way in which multiple gene expressions regulate vascular structure in the endometrium.

Born in Italy in 1969, Otello studied genetics in the University of Pavia, Italy, from 1987 till his Master in Genetics in 1991, Magna cum Laude, with a research thesis on plant genetic engineering. He continued his studies till obtaining a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Geneva in 1997.
During 1997, Otello also acted as a consultant for biotechnology investments to Index Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Geneva, directing their biotechnology practice. Following his Ph.D. thesis, Otello moved to Goldman Sachs in London, where he worked in the Corporate Finance/Mergers and Acquisition practice for health care and biotechnology clients.
Otello joined Lombard Odier in February 2001 as Manager for the Lombard Odier Immunology Fund in the AM&R division, focusing on small cap and private biotechnology investments.

Dr. Tambuyzer joined Genzyme Corporation (Cambridge, MA, USA - Leuven, Belgium) in 1992. Starting his professional career at Baxter Health Care (Baxter-Travenol, Brussels) in 1977, he pursued his career at Innovi NV (Brussels), as a consultant to industry in technology transfer from academia. He co-founded the biotechnology company Innogenetics NV (Ghent, Belgium) in 1985, of which he remained General Manager until 1992.

In October 2000, Dr. Tambuyzer was elected Chairman of the Board of EuropaBio, the European Association for Bioindustries, of which he is also the Founder & Chairman of the Ethics Committee. Dr. Tambuyzer is also a Board Member of the European Platform for Patients’ Organizations, Science & Industry, EPPOSI, and of EBE, the Emerging Biopharmaceuticals Enterprises group, a specialised group within EFPIA, the European Pharmaceutical Industry Association. He is an adviser to several international journals and since 2001 he serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board to Dresdner Kleinwort Capital's global life sciences fund.

Dr. Tambuyzer is a bio-engineer and holds a doctoral degree in bio-industrial sciences from the University of Leuven, (KUL), Belgium. A Belgian citizen, born in 1949, he is married and has 3 children.
