Life Science Ventures GmbH Global Life Science Ventures II (GLSV II), has been
launched earlier this year with a target of _150m. As per July an
initial _86m have been raised. The new fund follows the same successful
strategy as the predecessor fund GLS I, by focussing exclusively
on innovative technologies in the field of Life Science. It invests
in all pre-IPO stages including seed capital. The fund will have
additional offices in Switzerland and the UK. GLS I is an independent venture capital partnership
registered in Guernsey in October 1996, with a capital of DM 130
million provided through subscriptions from an exclusive group of
seven investors. The portfolio consits of 18 companies in the USA,
Germany Switzerland and Israel among which are two strategic fund-in-fund
